Fifth Wave

No need to remember- no need to wait
No need to believe- a lie no need to say
No need to fall- no need to hit
No need to cry- no need to live
Someone like me, I’m looking for,
Someone crazy and funny,
Someone crazy and sick
And when I’ll find them-
We will go away from here,
we will go to the night from here-
We will leave the zoo!

Excerpt from Egor Letov’s song “Zoo

1.6 to 2 million Russians have left for western democracies since Vladimir Putin’s ascent to the presidency[1].  Unlike some other recent upsurges of immigration, these Russian immigrants represent a new type of emigrant who have fled their homeland in search of political and social freedom: young, educated, and with no post-Soviet nostalgia, they are eager to embrace a new life in their adopted country.
